Freshness Menu

Our Program: Freshness Menu

Freshness Menu is an initiative launched in the summer of 2024 to promote access to a healthy, fresh and balanced diet during the summer season, in particular for those facing food insecurity. The program is based on the preparation of salads made with simple, nutritious and accessible ingredients, and distributed throughout our 51 affiliated organization network.

The intention behind these meals is clear: we wish not only to offer a concrete food support, but mostly to offer a moment of respite and discovery.

Each salad aims at meeting a genuine need, with simplicity and respect.

Thought to be nourishing, fresh and easy to make, the salads will be accompanied with a recipe card, allowing users to easily reproduce them at home. This is a concrete way to sustain and encourage food autonomy within a daily life often confronted with incertitude.

What we include in these trays are not only foods, but also possibilities. We use ingredients that people don’t normally use to cook, but that are nourishing, accessible and versatile. We want every meal to give them the incentive to try, taste and cook. It’s our way of spreading sustainability.” — David Gagné, Kitchen Coordinator at Moisson Outaouais.
