Fresh Menu 2025
July 30, 2025
Moisson Outaouais relaunches its “Fresh Menu” for a true solidary summer.
Now that summer is in full spin, numerous families throughout the region are still finding it difficult to fill their fridge. To respond to this need, Moisson Outaouais relaunches for a second year its “Fresh Menu”, an initiative created to promote access to healthy and fresh food during the summer season for those who face food insecurity.
Starting July 31st, Moisson Outaouais’ processing kitchen will prepare a total of 5,600 fresh salads that will then be delivered throughout its 51 affiliated organization network. For this 2nd edition, the recipes highlight simple ingredients, often underestimated but quite healthy, such as chickpeas, couscous, quinoa. Our cooks have developed three recipes: the Ceasar Quinoa, the Mediterranean Couscous, and the Maple Flavor Chickpeas.
The intention behind these meals is clear: we wish not only to offer a concrete food support, but mostly to offer a moment of respite and discovery. Each salad will be accompanied with a recipe card, allowing users to easily reproduce them at home.
“What we include in these trays are not only foods, but also possibilities. We use ingredients that people don’t normally use to cook, but that are nourishing, accessible and versatile. We want every meal to give them the incentive to try, taste and cook. It’s our way of spreading sustainability.” — David Gagné, Kitchen Coordinator at Moisson Outaouais.
The overall production will be achieved thanks to the precious help of volunteers who will lend a hand during assembling and packaging days. Their contribution highlights the spirit of this project, that is a collective, simple and essential mobilization that makes a difference where it matters.
